Martha Diehl, MSW, LCSW
Thank you for visiting my website.

I offer psychotherapy for adult individuals, couples and families through my practice here in Chapel Hill, NC. My clients come to me for help in dealing with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationships, addiction, trauma, and domestic violence. I am compassionate and client-centered in my approach to helping individuals. I provide a range of treatments, from problem-solving brief therapy for specific issues as well as longer-term psychotherapy for clients seeking insight and clarity regarding identity and interpersonal relationships. I also provide DBT skills training in both individual and class settings.

What is psychotherapy?Psychotherapy is a collaborative process by which you, with the help of the therapist, first identify what’s working and not working for you. Then, using a variety of resources, create the kind of quality of life you are seeking. Only you can determine what it means to have a ‘life worth living’. The “tools” may include talking, listening, observing, mindfulness, meditation, journaling, problem-solving, reflecting, and actively practicing new behavior and thinking. The process is sometimes painful, sometimes joyful, always interesting.
